What's new in Wallet?

At WWDC 2024, Apple introduced several new features and enhancements for Wallet and Apple Pay. Here are the key updates:

Apple Pay on the Web:
- With iOS 18, users can now use Apple Pay on any non-Safari browser by scanning a code with their iPhone to securely and privately complete the payment. This extends the Apple Pay user experience to any device with a browser, including those outside the Apple ecosystem.
- Developers should leverage the canMakePayments API or the new Apple Pay capabilities API to determine Apple Pay availability across different browsers.
Ticketing Enhancements:
- Apple introduced a richer ticketing experience, including visual upgrades to tickets in Wallet, a new event guide for detailed event information, and stronger system integration with apps like Weather and Calendar.
- NFC event tickets have been improved to provide a better user experience.
- Passes can now start a live activity on iPhone and Apple Watch, displaying primary seating and entry information directly on the lock screen or smart stack.
Pass Bundle Updates:
- New assets have been introduced for passes, including an artwork asset and a secondary logo. These assets ensure that passes are rendered correctly across different OS versions.
- Developers should include the required pass bundle content and consider the newly introduced assets for a consistent user experience.
