The new Foundation Models framework introduced at WWDC 2025 is available on macOS, iOS, iPadOS, and VisionOS. It provides access to an on-device large language model through a Swift API, allowing developers to enhance existing app features or create new ones. However, it is specifically mentioned to be available starting with iOS 26. Therefore, it cannot be used on earlier versions of iOS.
For more details, you can refer to the session Meet the Foundation Models framework.
