In iOS 26, Apple introduced several enhancements to the Maps app. Your iPhone can now better understand your routines to improve your daily commute and help you remember great places you've been. It learns your preferred routes and offers them in Maps alongside other options. If your routine changes, your iPhone will adapt to it. Additionally, the Maps widget allows you to check your commute before you leave, and if there are significant delays, Maps will send you a notification with alternate route options even if you haven't started directions. This ensures you won't be late due to unexpected slowdowns.
