Safari Bookmarks
In the session titled "What’s new in Safari and WebKit" from WWDC 2025, it was mentioned that SVG icons can be used as favicons in Safari. These icons can be seen in bookmarklets on the Safari Start page, which enhances the visual experience when users add bookmarks to the dock. This feature allows Safari to generate icons best suited for the context, and SVG files are typically smaller than PNGs, which are commonly used for favicons. This improvement is part of the new features coming to Safari this fall.
For more details, you can refer to the session What’s new in Safari and WebKit (38:22) under the "Media" chapter.
