Image Playground is available on:
- iOS
- iPadOS
- macOS
- visionOS
It runs on devices with Apple Intelligence support. The framework APIs are available on those same platforms.
Plans and limits
- Image Playground has a usage limit because it relies on powerful server models.
- Increased access is available with most iCloud+ subscription plans.
- As a developer, you don’t need to manage limits or build usage UI:
- no server provisioning
- no infrastructure to maintain
- Apple handles usage limits on behalf of users
It also works only when:
- the device supports Apple Intelligence,
- the user’s language and region are supported,
- and image generation is enabled in Settings.
You can check availability with the supportsImageGeneration environment value, which returns true only when all of those conditions are met.
