At WWDC, Apple introduced several new features and improvements for SwiftUI. Here are some of the highlights:

  1. Graphics Capabilities: SwiftUI now includes new graphics capabilities, such as a mix modifier on colors that allows blending with another color. There are also enhancements to custom shaders, including precompilation to avoid frame drops.

  2. Scrolling Enhancements: There are new APIs for scroll views, providing more control over scroll positions and the ability to detect changes in view visibility due to scrolling. This allows for experiences like auto-playing videos when content moves on or off-screen.

  3. Swift 6 Language Mode: SwiftUI has been updated to support the new Swift 6 language mode, which includes compile-time data race safety. Views in SwiftUI are now implicitly isolated to the main actor by default.

  4. Interoperability Improvements: Significant improvements have been made to the integration of gestures and animations between SwiftUI and UIKit/AppKit. You can now use gesture recognizers in SwiftUI views and animate UIKit/AppKit views with SwiftUI animations.

  5. Web APIs and Rich Text Editing: New web APIs have been introduced, including a declarative webview component for SwiftUI. The text editor in SwiftUI now supports rich text editing by using attributed strings.

  6. 3D Charts and RealityKit Integration: Swift Charts now support 3D interactions, thanks to RealityKit. This includes camera interactions for rotating and zooming on charts.
