What's new in Shortcuts in OS 27?

Here’s what’s new in Shortcuts in the latest OS 27-era update:

• Automations live directly in the Shortcuts editor now, alongside shortcut actions, making them easier to set up and browse.
• Three new automation types are available:
  • Screenshot automation — runs when a screenshot is saved
  • Keyboard automation — triggers when an external keyboard is connected or disconnected
  • Notification automation — runs when a notification is received from a specific app
• Use Model improvements:
  • Shortcuts can use Apple Intelligence models, and there’s a new way to debug their behavior.
• Storage:
  • You can now persist data between shortcut runs
  • The editor includes a storage view to create, view, and edit stored values
  • You can also create global values shared across multiple shortcuts

There’s also deeper support for app content in shortcuts, including making app entities work well with the new model and storage features.
