The "Use Model Action" is a new feature introduced in the session titled "Develop for Shortcuts and Spotlight with App Intents" at WWDC 2025. This action allows users to leverage Apple Intelligence models within their shortcuts, making tasks like parsing text or formatting data much simpler. Users can choose between a large server-based model on a private cloud for complex requests, which ensures privacy, or an on-device model for simpler tasks that don't require a network connection. Additionally, there's an option to use ChatGPT for certain tasks.

The Use Model Action also provides a follow-up option, allowing users to refine their requests and interact with the model to get the desired output before moving on to the next action. This feature is particularly useful for tasks that require iterative adjustments, such as modifying a recipe before saving it to a grocery list.

For more details, you can refer to the session Develop for Shortcuts and Spotlight with App Intents (01:16).
